Michelle Trachtenberg All Grown Up
Michelle Christine Trachtenberg (born October 11, 1985) is an iconic American actress who has been in the business for almost thirty years. Michelle got her start as a child actress and, unlike some other child actors, had no difficulty transitioning to more mature roles. She is one of the more enigmatic stars in Hollywood, though, as she pops up every so often, appears in some iconic production and makes a big splash, and then disappears again for a while.
Michelle is best known for her roles as Nona F. Mecklenberg in "The Adventures of Pete & Pete," Dawn Summers in the cult television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (2000–2003), and Georgina Sparks in "Gossip Girl."
Michelle Trachtenberg is a New York City girl, born to Lana and Michael Trachtenberg. She is Jewish and speaks fluent Russian, with her grandparents living in Israel.
Apparently, Michelle is not strict about religion and celebrates both Hanukkah and Christmas.
Michelle began acting in commercials at age 3, and later graduated to television shows, which she continues acting in to this day.
Michelle had been acting on soap opera "All My Children" when she got the part of Harriet M. Welsch on "Harriet the Spy" (1996). Michelle quickly quit the soap and "The Adventures of Pete & Pete," on which she had been playing Nona Mecklenberg. "Harriet," directed by Bronwen Hughes, got Michelle noticed.
The following year, Michelle got a recurring role as Maggie Parker on "Meego." A series of television roles and guest starring roles followed for the next few years as Michelle entered her teen years. While it is unfair to say that Michelle's career was stalled as she tried to make the transition... it wasn't skyrocketing, either.
Michelle's next big break, however, was a big one indeed. She landed the part of Buffy's little sister Dawn in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer, " a successful series on the WB.
The plum "Buffy" role may not have just come about at random. Apparently, Trachtenberg was good friends with the star of that show, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who recommended her for the part. The met while performing together in "All My Children" in the early '90s.
The "Buffy role lasted for several years, and Michelle filmed 66 episodes. The show retains a loyal fan base to this day, with reunions and so forth. Everybody loved Michelle's Dawn character.
After wrapping "Buffy" in 2003, Michelle went back to picking and choosing roles. In 2004, she landed the role of Celeste in another cult classic television show, "Six Feet Under," appearing in four episodes. However, it was another project that year from which many fans remember Michelle best.
Michelle's played Jenny in "EuroTrip" (2004). "Eurotrip" has become, you guessed it, another cult hit. Michelle Trachtenberg has a habit of appearing in those. She completed the transition from child star to mature actress with this role, which involved a lot of sexual innuendo and, well, more sexual innuendo.
The following year, Michelle appeared in Disney's "Ice Princess" (2005). It was a pretty by-the-book tale about a skater, but it was remarkable because Michelle played a champion skater - and she had never skated before. However, she pulled it off in beautiful fashion.
Casting Michelle in "Ice Princess" reversed the usual formula of finding a champion skater to play the lead - such as Lynn Holly Johnson in "Ice Castles" (1978) - but it worked. The film became a hot seller at ice rinks and as a film shown on television during the Christmas season.
After those huges successes, Michelle went back to taking quirkier roles. Among other projects was "Black Christmas" (2006), "17 Again" (2009) and "Cop Out."
After a few years, Michelle's decided to return to episodic television. She played Nurse Chloe Payne on "Mercy" in 2009 2010.

Michelle also developed a continuing relationship with "Robot Chicken," appearing in five episodes over between 2006 - 2012. She is good friends with show creator Seth Green, who also starred in "Buffy," though their years of appearance did not overlap.
Since "Gossip Girl," Michelle has gone back to picking and choosing her roles. She appeared in half a dozen episodes of web series "Guidance" as Anna in 2015, for instance.
Michelle also served as a producer on "Guidance."
Michelle has starred in three television films in recent years: 2013's Killing Kennedy, 2015's The Christmas Gift, and Sister Cities (2016), a Lifetime movie. She's also been in a handful of episodes in various series (Criminal Minds, NCIS: Los Angeles, SuperMansion, and Sleepy Hollow).

I didn't see myself continuing as Dawn because I like to have diversity in my roles. A lot of people are like, "Oh my God! Little Dawn grew up!" And as much as I love you guys, suck it up.
Anything you throw at me, I'll try to tackle.
I'm the last person to ask about dealing with stress. I'm always the biggest stress ball. But I don't stop moving and I never let my Blackberry leave my hand, so I'm getting a lot of thumb exercise. It's great.
I'm a downtown girl. I would love to give you restaurants, but then you'd know about them and we couldn't go there anymore. Leighton Meester and I like to go to hole-in-the-walls that no one would ever expect us to go to, and no one cares that we're in there. We do that often.
I tried my hand at going to Bed, Bath & Beyond the other day, which I love, and that was a little bit of a catastrophe. I caused a little bit of a scene. That would be the only time that I'm a little shy.
I adore London and Paris, and I hope to live in London for a period of time when I'm older.
I'm sure that in some way, shape or form, "Buffy" will be continued or the story, through the fans, because we do have such devoted fans and that's always been very sweet.

I think I did a head-to-toe leopard ensemble once, when I was 10. I think animal print should be taken in moderation. A shoe or a scarf is fine.

I think life is like high school. I don't necessarily know that it pertains to "Gossip Girl" because that is obviously an extreme fabrication of the most glorious life. But I do think that life, in general, is definitely like high school and you never get out of it. You just have to stay strong.
