Fashion Maven Posh Spice
Victoria Caroline Beckham (née Adams; born 17 April 1974) is an English fashion designer, model and pop singer. In the late 1990s, Victoria Beckham rose to fame with the all-female pop group Spice Girls.
Over time, Victoria has built the most enduring solo career of all the Spice Girls, and remains a favorite of the tabloids.
Victoria was born in Harlow, Essex, United Kingdom, the eldest of three children. She grew up in Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire. As a child, she saw the film Alan Parker film "Fame" (1980) and decided to become a singer.
In 1994, Victoria saw an ad in The Stage for open auditions to join a girl group that was forming. She auditioned and won a role (under her original name Victoria Adams), along with Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm. This project turned into the Spice Girls group.
The Spice Girls released their first single in 1996, "Wannabe." The single became a smash hit, reaching No. 1 on both sides of the Atlantic and around the world. This led to three albums, "Spice," "Spiceworld" and "Forever," and a total of ten No. 1 singles. The Spice Girls became a global phenomenon, with tours, a feature film, and numerous other side projects cementing their fame. The Spice Girls became the top-selling female group ever, selling over 80 million records.
The media dubbed Victoria "Posh Spice" because of her stylish presence. In 2000, the Spice Girls went on an extended hiatus, and Victoria began a solo career.

At the height of Spice Girls fame, Victoria married football star David Beckham on July 4, 1999. They bought a home set on 24 acres, and it became known as Beckingham Palace. Upon her marriage, Victoria changed her name to Victoria Beckham.
Now a major celebrity apart from the Spice Girls, Victoria began modelling in February 2000. This eventually led her to a career as a fashion designer. In 2004, Victoria designed a fashion line for Rock & Republic which focused on high fashion jeans. In 2007, Victoria launched her own dvb Denim line at Saks Fifth Avenue. Then, in 2008, she launched her Victoria Beckham fashion line. In November 2011, the British Fashion Awards named Victoria as Designer Brand of the Year. She remains a top fashion designer.
Along with her modelling and fashion work, Victoria pursued her own singing career. Her first solo single, "Out of Your Mind," led to a contract with Virgin Records. Victoria then released her solo debut album, "Victoria Beckham," and it reached No. 10 on the UK album chart. Another single, "A Mind of its Own," came out in February 2002 and reached No. 6 on the UK singles chart. Ultimate, and under murky circumstances, Victoria ended her association with Virgin.
Victoria then signed with Telstar Records and began recording again. Her first single, "Let Your Head Go"/ "The Groove," reached No. 3 on the UK singles chart in early 2004, but Victoria's heart was not in a solo singing career. She decided to stop singing and focus on her fashion career.
After a seven-year break, the Spice Girls reformed in 2007. They released a Greatest Hits album and embarked on a tour. This resulted in a tour film, "Spice Girls: Giving You Everything," and by all accounts the reunion was a huge success.
The Spice Girls since have engaged in various projects, with occasional reunions. However, as Victoria has said, "We're all still doing our own thing."
Victoria has become a global celebrity, and, in addition to her fashion work and occasional Spice Girls projects, that has become her career. The Beckhams moved to Los Angeles, attracting a lot of media attention, and published a couple of self-help books, "Learning to Fly" and "That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between." As expected, the books sold well based on Victoria's celebrity.
Victoria has four children: sons Brooklyn Joseph Beckham (born 4 March 1999, Westminster, London), Romeo James Beckham (born 1 September 2002, Westminster, London), Cruz David Beckham (born 20 February 2005, Madrid, Spain); and daughter Harper Seven Beckham (born 10 July 2011, Los Angeles, California).
As a huge celebrity, Victoria has had to take extra security precautions. She has received death threats, enduring kidnapping plots, and apparently been targeted by an assassin.
On her relationship with husband David, who is a global celebrity in his own right:
It's not about competition. You should see me with a football - there's no competition at all.
If a bride could splurge on a single thing, it's the booze, because that's what guarantees more fun.
I'm not materialistic. I believe in presents from the heart, like a drawing that a child does.
On husband David:
He's got more personality than people think and he's very deep and spiritual. He always knows how to dress, that was part of his appeal originally. We've got matching dogs, matching watches, similar wardrobes, matchings Jags. I know it's tacky, but it makes me laugh.
If you haven't got it. Fake it! Too short? Wear big high heels, but do practice walking!
I'm quite an old-fashioned songwriter. I like a song that has lyrics and a good melody.
I don't want to be seen smiling, having fun, or eating.
I just can't concentrate in flats.
